Regional Innovation through Integration of Culture, History, and Ecology
Catholic University announced on the 17th that it held a 'Gyeonggi Northern Regional Innovation Network Formation Agreement Ceremony' in collaboration with Yeoncheon County, Jeongok Prehistoric Museum, and the Korean Regional Culture Association.

This event, part of the Gyeonggi Province RISE project, was held on the 7th at Jayuro Country Club (Baekhak Resort) in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. More than 100 people attended, including Hyesook Lee, Vice President for External Cooperation at Catholic University; Min Lee, Director of the Regional Innovation Center; Jaegu Kim, Director of the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Yeoncheon County; Han-Yong Lee, Director of Jeongok Prehistoric Museum; and Youngjoo Kim, President of the Korean Regional Culture Association.
The main points of the agreement include: △ joint development and utilization of local cultural, historical, and ecological resources; △ planning and research of tourism products linked to local festivals; △ establishment of a cooperative system among local governments, industry, academia, research institutes, and residents; and △ identification of joint projects in connection with the RISE initiative.
Following the agreement ceremony, the '2025 Korean Regional Culture Association Fall Academic Conference' was held. Participants discussed the theme, 'Cultural Reinterpretation of the Region: Cooperation, Healing, and Peace for Coexistence.'
A representative from Catholic University stated, "This academic conference was an opportunity to explore practical regional innovation models and suggest directions for sustainable development," adding, "We will expand our research, education, and cultural cooperation networks linked to the local community and strengthen our role as a hub university for innovation in the northern Gyeonggi region."
