Gimhae City in Gyeongnam announced on November 10 that it will implement a comprehensive support system covering transportation, noise control, disaster response, and medical services for students taking the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) on November 13.
On the day of the CSAT, the city will operate a comprehensive situation response team from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The team will provide test site guidance, respond to unexpected situations, and maintain real-time cooperation with the police, fire department, and the local education office.
Additionally, banners with messages of encouragement for test-takers will be displayed at a total of 24 locations, including 16 test sites and 8 designated billboards in the city center.
On the day of the test, around 150 personnel-including police officers, traffic volunteer groups, and city officials-will be deployed around the test sites. From 7 a.m. to 8:10 a.m., vehicle entry and exit within 200 meters of the test sites will be restricted during the student entry period.
Furthermore, the start time for public offices, government agencies, and financial institutions will be adjusted to after 10 a.m.
During the English listening test, from 1:10 p.m. to 1:35 p.m., the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit will reduce speed, and vehicles near schools will be asked to refrain from honking and to drive slowly.
Construction sites and large-scale building projects near test sites will be required to temporarily halt any noise-generating activities.
In cooperation with local medical institutions and fire departments, test-takers will be given priority transportation in the event of a medical emergency.
Additionally, the city will continuously monitor the weather until the day of the CSAT and maintain an emergency contact system with 13 departments across 6 agencies, including the police and fire departments, to respond to sudden weather changes.
According to the city, 5,948 students will take the CSAT this year at 226 test rooms in 16 high schools across the Gimhae area.
Mayor Hong Taeyong stated, "We will focus all administrative resources to ensure that students can fully demonstrate the skills they have worked hard to develop," and added, "We also ask citizens to actively cooperate in minimizing traffic congestion and noise on the day of the test."
