"We are not just a production company. We are a multi-business enterprise based on intellectual property (IP)."

Inchan Park, CEO of Studio W Baba, summarized the North American expansion strategy for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) animation "Dr. Theo the Robot" in this way at the "U-KNOCK 2025 in USA" event hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency, held at the Loews Hotel in Los Angeles, United States, on the 5th (local time). He cited the company's mass production capability-producing more than ten episodes per month-and the early adoption of Unreal Engine 5 as its core competitive strengths.

Studio W Baba has established a "simultaneous production structure" based on more than 15 years of accumulated pipeline expertise and in-house production management. The company has continued to grow through enhanced production efficiency brought by the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) and an automated workflow management system.

In particular, by adopting Unreal Engine 5 early on, the company reduced post-production rendering costs by more than half. By reflecting lighting, shading, and camera simulations in real time, it maintained theater-level quality while shortening production schedules by 25%. Real-time previews also significantly reduced revision costs.

The company operates a global production network with branches in Gwangju and Malaysia. The former benefits from robust infrastructure as an AI and content industry cluster, while the latter has secured local support benefits and workforce networking through certification from the local digital agency (MDEC).

Park stated, "This network will serve as a co-production hub with local OTT platforms and production companies in North America."

"Dr. Theo the Robot," which will open the door to this expansion, is not simply a content investment model. It has established a multi-business structure based on IP. The main pillars include revenue from broadcasting the main animation, OTT license sales, expansion into toys, publishing, and audiobook content, as well as license revenue from programs linked with global STEAM educational institutions and local governments.

Park is concretizing the plan through project financing (PF). "In typical fundraising, the production company’s profit recovery is delayed until after distribution, but PF enables a clearly structured process for step-by-step investment, production, and profit sharing."

Studio W Baba has produced more than 600 animation titles, including "Hello Carbot," "Magic Adventure," "Space Bug," and "B-Family." Park emphasized that this is not just a matter of volume, but the result of high quality and reliability in meeting deadlines.

"There has not been a single delivery delay in the past ten years. I believe this track record is the foundation of trust and the reason why global partners prefer us as a co-production partner."
