Dong-A ST Opens "Happy Car Wash" to Support Independence of People with Disabilities

Dong-A ST announced on November 3 that it has opened the "Happy Car Wash," a space within its headquarters in Yongdu-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, where differences are respected and growth is fostered together.

The Happy Car Wash was established to support the independence of people with disabilities, who are part of socially vulnerable groups, and to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can grow together. In addition, it operates as an in-house welfare facility that contributes to improving the welfare of Dong-A Socio Group employees.

Dong-A ST hired a total of eight employees to operate the Happy Car Wash. Staff members who have completed specialized training in car wash operations will provide high-quality car wash services for up to six vehicles per day at reasonable prices.

Since 2023, Dong-A Socio Group has been systematically promoting the realization of employment for people with disabilities, aiming to improve both the quality and quantity of such employment. The group has been implementing various programs to fulfill legal obligations, raise awareness, and enhance understanding regarding the employment of people with disabilities, while continuously spreading a culture of inclusion within the company.

In July, the company signed a disability employment promotion agreement with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities to promote the employment of people with disabilities and implement ESG management practices. As part of this initiative, the Happy Car Wash was opened.

A Dong-A ST representative stated, "Through the Happy Car Wash, employees can naturally participate in realizing social value, and workers with disabilities can work with pride in a stable job and experience mutual growth.
