First Overseas Permanent Store Achieves $40,000 in Sales
Within Six Months
Uiryeong County’s excellent agricultural and food products received an enthusiastic response at the ‘2025 LA Korean Festival Agro-Fisheries Expo,’ held from October 16 to 19 at Seoul International Park in Koreatown, Los Angeles, achieving sales of 100 million KRW.
Six food companies from Uiryeong County participated in the event, showcasing regional specialty products such as Manggae rice cakes, guava, native soybean paste, and shiitake mushrooms. Through active tasting and promotional events targeting local consumers and buyers, the companies confirmed the potential for entering the North American market.

In particular, the county’s first overseas permanent sales outlet, the ‘LA Antenna Shop,’ which opened in May, has recorded approximately 40,000 dollars in sales in just six months, demonstrating stable growth. Unique processed foods from Uiryeong, such as guava rice noodles and mushroom snacks, are gaining popularity among local consumers.
Last year, County Governor Oh Tae-wan personally visited the United States and signed an export agreement (MOU) worth 1.5 million dollars with the distributor BADA GLOBAL, finalizing the establishment of the LA permanent store.
Previously, the county mainly conducted one-off promotional events at festivals, but with the opening of the permanent sales outlet, Uiryeong’s agricultural specialty products can now be supplied year-round to the U.S. market. This has helped raise brand awareness and laid the foundation for continuous expansion of overseas sales channels.
Governor Oh Tae-wan stated, “Although Uiryeong was just taking its first steps in exports, we are now seeing tangible results. Starting with the western United States, we will expand permanent sales outlets to the eastern region, China, and other major overseas markets.”
