General Park Ansu, Chief of Staff of the Army and the martial law commander during the December 3 Martial Law, retired from service on October 30.
The Ministry of National Defense announced on this day, "A discharge order has been issued effective today for Army General Park Ansu, whose term as Chief of Staff has ended. He is currently on trial after being indicted in connection with the illegal December 3 Martial Law." General Park is currently facing trial on charges of involvement in a major insurrection.
General Park was appointed as the martial law commander during the December 3 Martial Law last year and was involved in the situation by issuing proclamations under his own name.
