Gyeonggi Fire Department Expands Reward Program for Reporting Illegal Acts Related to Fire Safety Facilities

The Gyeonggi Provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters will expand the scope and limits of rewards for reporting illegal acts related to fire safety facilities starting November 1.

The headquarters announced on October 30 that, following the recent passage of the revised ordinance on the operation of the "Gyeonggi-do Illegal Acts Reporting and Reward System for Fire Safety Facilities," the scope and limits of the reward program will be expanded.

The revised ordinance expands the scope of reportable offenses from the previous "emergency exit violations" to all illegal acts related to fire safety facilities, and raises the monthly reward limit per person from 5 cases to 10 cases.

Additionally, the system has been improved to allow reward items to be granted once per month even if the monthly limit is exceeded.

As a result, not only acts such as arbitrarily blocking emergency exits or stacking items in front of them, but also illegal management of fire safety facilities such as neglecting broken fire pumps or cutting off power to fire alarms, can now be reported.

Residents who witness violations can report them to the local fire station or the "Fire Safety Facility Reporting Center" within 48 hours of witnessing the incident, along with supporting evidence.
