The Asahi Shimbun reported on the 28th that the governments of South Korea and Japan are coordinating to hold the first summit between President Lee Jaemyung and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on the 30th.
Prime Minister Takaichi is scheduled to visit South Korea on the 30th to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will open in Gyeongju on the 31st.
The Asahi stated, "Both leaders appear to be intent on maintaining the current momentum of improved South Korea-Japan relations, and attention is focused on what kind of dialogue will take place."
