The Seodaemun District Office Women's Basketball Team of Seoul, led by head coach Park Chansook, won the gold medal for the second consecutive year at the 106th National Sports Festival, defeating Sacheon City Hall of South Gyeongsang Province 54-49 in the women's general basketball division final held at Kyungam Gymnasium, Pusan National University, on October 23.

Representing Seoul, the Seodaemun District Office team advanced to the final by defeating Daegu City Hall 67-64 in their first match on October 18, Pusan National University 67-53 in the quarterfinals on October 20, and Gimcheon City Hall 57-55 in the semifinals on October 22. It is notable that they consecutively overcame all three professional teams, whose rosters are generally considered stronger than those of university teams.
In the final, Seodaemun District Office took the lead from the first quarter with a score of 20-8, maintaining their advantage at 35-25 in the second quarter and 48-33 in the third quarter. The final score was 54-49. Within the team, forward Park Eunseo scored the most points with 18, center Yoo Hyuni added 15, and captain and forward Yoon Nari contributed 11 points.
Earlier this year, Gimcheon City Hall won the Gimcheon tournament in April, Seodaemun District Office claimed victory at the Taebaek tournament in June, and Sacheon City Hall took the title at the Yeonggwang County tournament in July. This led to heightened attention on the competition among these professional teams at the National Sports Festival. With this victory, Seodaemun District Office has once again proven itself as the top women's professional basketball team in Korea.
