A singer and announcer in her 40s, active in South Gyeongsang Province, has been indicted and detained on charges of indiscriminately assaulting and neglecting her teenage biological daughter, leading to her death.
The Criminal Division 2 of the Jinju Branch of the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Hyehyun) announced on the 21st that a woman in her 40s, identified as A, has been indicted and detained on charges of murdering her 18-year-old biological daughter.
A is accused of assaulting her daughter at a residence in Namhae County on the 22nd of last month, resulting in her death. Investigations revealed that after beating her daughter, A poured hot water on her, causing scalp lacerations and burns. According to the prosecution, although the daughter complained of pain, she was left unattended in A's car for more than two days, ultimately leading to her death.
The crime came to light during the process of transporting the daughter to the hospital after her death. At the time, A sent her daughter to the emergency room of a hospital in Namhae County, where medical staff, upon noticing the injuries on her body, suspected a crime and reported it to the police.
A is known to have been active as both a singer and announcer in South Gyeongsang Province and operated a YouTube channel.
