A Variety of Attractions Including Artist Performances and Morning Pilates Sessions
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will host the "2025 Korea Backpackers Day & Walk Around Ecological Lake" event from October 25 to 26, 2025.
According to the county on October 21, this event is organized and hosted by the outdoor brand Zerogram, which is responsible for the overall planning, operation, and content development of the event.
The county will provide venues such as Jucheon Ecological Park and the area around Gamakcheon in Jinan-eup, and will also host some trekking programs. In addition, it will sponsor local specialties and food tasting and sales, as well as souvenirs.
"Korea Backpackers Day" is a leading domestic backpacking festival, marking its seventh edition this year since its first event in 2015. Every year, 500 to 600 backpackers participate, making it a hub for sharing and exchanging outdoor culture. This year, about 600 people, including staff, are expected to take part.
This year, a variety of programs set against Jinan's pristine natural environment are planned. These include trekking programs such as the Gubongsan Peak Course and the Unilam-Banilam Myeongdobong Course, as well as unique outdoor activities like bouldering in the Unilam-Banilam Valley and rafting experiences at the Hagamak Rural Experience Village in Jucheon-myeon, which are drawing significant interest from participants.
At the event site, various events will be held, including the outdoor knowledge-sharing program "Sharegram," artist performances, a GPS treasure hunt, and morning Pilates sessions.
The venue will also feature booths from major domestic outdoor brands, as well as a promotion center for Jinan's signature trail "Jinangowon-gil," a promotional booth for the "2026-2027 Visit Jinan Years," a barbecue zone at the Jinan Local Food Direct Market, and booths from local food and beverage companies. This will provide an opportunity to showcase Jinan's pristine nature, local cuisine, and regional brands.
County Governor Jeon Chunseong said, "I hope that backpackers from across the country will enjoy a special outdoor experience in Jinan's clean natural environment and directly feel the charm of Jinan's ecological and healing tourism. I expect this event to help establish Jinan not only as a destination for healing tourism but also as the best spot for outdoor travel."
