Kakao Mobility announced on the 19th that it will provide comprehensive transportation services, including the operation of free circular shuttle buses and detour route guidance, during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to be held in Gyeongju at the end of this month.
As the official sponsor of the 2025 APEC Summit, Kakao Mobility signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on transportation service support with the APEC Preparation Support Team on the 15th.

Under this agreement, Kakao Mobility will deploy a total of 12 circular shuttle buses, each with a capacity of 44 passengers, in the Bomun Complex area of Gyeongju from October 26 to November 1, for a period of one week. These buses will operate on two circular routes-'Jae2 Donggungwon Side' and 'Expo Park East Side'-within Gyeongju City, running every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
There will be no separate usage fees, and Kakao Mobility will cover all associated costs, including vehicle rental and driver accommodation expenses. Kakao Mobility also plans to establish a system to respond to emergencies that may arise during the event period, ensuring safe transportation services.
During the APEC Summit, Kakao Mobility will also provide traffic guidance through KakaoNavi. Specifically, the company will offer: advance notifications about the implementation of the odd-even license plate system and road congestion; real-time detour traffic information to help disperse traffic volumes; and parking guidance for vehicles visiting the Bomun Tourist Complex. In addition, information on temporary detour city bus routes operating in the Bomun Complex-where the main summit venues are located-will be provided through the KakaoBus app.
Ryu Geungseon, CEO of Kakao Mobility, stated, "We are supporting transportation services so that the many visitors can conveniently travel between various event venues during the APEC Summit," adding, "With leaders from around the world expected to attend and unprecedented international attention on the event, we aim to contribute to enhancing Korea's global standing by leveraging the platform capabilities we have built up over the years."
