Yeonseong Cultural Festival to Be Held at Siheung Lotus Theme Park and Gwankokji on the 18th-19th

Various Cultural and Artistic Performances
Celebrating the Themes of "Lotus" and "Tradition"

The 33rd Yeonseong Cultural Festival will be held for two days, on the 18th and 19th, at the Lotus Theme Park and Gwankokji in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.


This event, organized by the Siheung Cultural Center as a local government-funded project, has been held since 1989 as Siheung’s representative traditional culture festival, under the themes of “Lotus” and “Tradition.”

On the first day, the 18th, performances by Siheung’s traditional culture and arts clubs-including Danha Traditional Arts Institute, Haegeum, Gayageum, and Ttobagi-will take place, along with the “Kang Heemaeng Envoy Parade” and “Movement in Siheung,” a samulnori performance by Park Aeri and Gwanggaeto Samulnori.


On the 19th, a citizen’s cultural event will feature groups such as Yeonhwa Dance Company, Arirang Dance Company, Gugak Pungnyu Sarang, and Happi Band. On the same day, visitors can also enjoy “Small Park Busking” at the lawn plaza of the Lotus Theme Park.


Throughout the festival, more than 10 experience and exhibition programs-including traditional culture experiences, exhibitions, and food booths-will be available at various locations within the festival grounds.


In addition, the “Our Era’s Master Artisans Exhibition” will be held at the Yeon Gallery on the first floor of the Siheung Agricultural Technology Center until the 23rd. The exhibition will showcase works by local artisans such as Lim Seonbin (drum making), Oh Pyeongsook (lacquerware crafts), and Kim Irang (straw crafts).
