Full-scale Localization of IP Begins
The animated series "Bebefinn" and "Sealook" are making their debut on Japanese terrestrial TV.
The Pinkfong Company announced on the 2nd that both titles will be aired on broadcasters TV Tokyo and TBS. "Bebefinn," which was released in 2022, became the first Korean animation to reach No. 1 in the Netflix Kids category in eleven countries, including the United States. The series currently boasts 63 million cumulative YouTube subscribers and 3.7 billion views. It will be broadcast every Saturday at 9:25 a.m. on TBS, starting from the 4th.
"Sealook" is a 3D observational animation co-produced by The Pinkfong Company and animation studio Million Volt. Featuring stories about seals in short-form videos, it has surpassed 2.9 billion cumulative views on YouTube and Tencent Video. Since the 1st, it has been airing every weekday at 7:57 a.m. on TV Tokyo.
The Pinkfong Company plans to accelerate its efforts to capture the Japanese market with these broadcasts. The strategy is to target viewers in their teens and twenties with "Sealook," and families, infants, and children with "Bebefinn." Joo Hyemin, Chief Business Officer (CBO) and head of the Japan branch, stated, "We will enhance brand awareness through outdoor advertising and social media, among other channels."
