Paik Jongwon, CEO of Theborn Korea, who had suspended all broadcasting activities following various controversies, made a public appearance through a local Taiwanese broadcast. It has been four months since he declared in May that he would "cease all broadcasting activities."

On the 29th of last month (local time), Paik appeared on the Taiwanese news channel TVBS and personally introduced his Korean barbecue restaurant located in Taipei. He recommended his special seafood sauce, saying, "This one tastes better," and demonstrated how to wrap and eat ssam with lettuce, maintaining a relaxed demeanor throughout. He also highlighted the uniqueness of his brand by introducing a menu item of thinly sliced beef short ribs, for which he holds a patent.


During the broadcast, he stated, "Customers can currently enjoy meat at the restaurant, but in the future, we will offer ways to experience these flavors even more conveniently." However, he did not address questions regarding his potential return to the Netflix survival show "Black and White Chef 2," nor did he comment on issues such as false labeling of origin, safety regulation violations, or expos?s by former colleagues.


"Not a TV Appearance, but an Interview"

Regarding this, Theborn Korea clarified, "He introduced Korean cuisine as part of an interview requested by a local Taiwanese media outlet; it was not a television appearance." The company added, "Following visits to Thailand, Cambodia, and Taiwan, Paik will continue his global sauce business tour in China and the United States through mid-November."


This visit is part of the company's overseas sales efforts for "global food consulting" based on B2B (business-to-business) sauces, with Taiwan being the third destination. Previously, Paik announced his intention to personally promote sauce products during visits to Thailand, Taiwan, China, and the United States, departing from Incheon International Airport on the 21st of last month.


After Theborn Korea's listing in November last year, Paik became embroiled in various controversies, including origin labeling errors, blacklist allegations, and food hygiene law disputes, which led him to announce a halt to his broadcasting activities in May of this year.
