The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that the online real estate transaction reporting service will resume from 1:00 p.m. on September 30.
Due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service in Daejeon, people had to visit city, county, or district offices or community centers in person to report real estate transactions or housing lease contracts. However, after additional system work, the ministry stated that it is now possible to access the Real Estate Transaction Management System to report transactions involving buildings such as apartments. For land-only transaction reports, individuals must still visit local government offices in person, as the system has not yet been linked with land register information from the Integrated Real Estate Information System.
The ministry explained that if a natural disaster or a comparable reason prevented someone from fulfilling their reporting obligations, the period of non-compliance will not be counted. In cooperation with local governments, measures will be taken to ensure that no penalties, such as fines, are imposed for reporting delays caused by this incident.
