Focusing on Seven Key Areas, Including Comprehensive Transportation Measures

Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 30 that it will implement the "2025 Chuseok Holiday Comprehensive Plan" to ensure that residents and visitors returning home for the nation's biggest holiday can enjoy a safe and prosperous holiday.

The county has established a comprehensive plan focusing on seven key areas: transportation, disaster safety, the local economy, resolving inconveniences in daily life, emergency medical care, welfare, and public sector discipline. From Friday, October 3 to Thursday, October 9, an emergency response system will be maintained, and a comprehensive situation room with 11 task forces will be operated to address any inconveniences for residents.

First, in the area of transportation, to ensure a comfortable and safe journey for those returning home or leaving, the county will provide friendly service to public transportation passengers and increase the number of bus trips between Hapcheon and Seoul by 22 in each direction, adding a total of 44 extra trips. In addition, a transportation situation room will be operated to strengthen real-time traffic safety management.

For disaster safety, a disaster comprehensive situation room will be operated, and gas and electrical facilities will undergo thorough inspections before the holiday. To prevent livestock epidemics such as highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI), African swine fever (ASF), and foot-and-mouth disease, the county will strengthen disinfection, monitoring, and public awareness efforts. A wildfire prevention alert system will also be maintained throughout the holiday period.

In the local economy sector, a price control situation room will be operated, and joint inspection teams will be organized to intensify crackdowns on violations of market order, personal service fees, illegal distribution of agricultural, livestock, and marine products, and violations of country-of-origin labeling.

To resolve inconveniences in daily life, a gas supply inconvenience reporting center will be operated, and an LPG retailer rotation system will be implemented to ensure uninterrupted gas supply during the holiday. Streetlights and security lights will be inspected before the holiday, and a comprehensive water supply situation room will be operated to prepare for increased water usage. A waste management plan will be put in place to maintain a clean holiday environment, and environmental maintenance will be reinforced so visitors to the public columbarium can pay their respects in a pleasant setting.

In the emergency medical care sector, an emergency medical response situation room will be operated during the holiday, and the operation status of one emergency medical institution, 24 clinics and hospitals, and 15 pharmacies will be monitored. The county will also monitor for infectious diseases such as respiratory illnesses, and the Hapcheon County Public Health Center will provide emergency medical services for three days from October 5 to 7.

In the welfare sector, the county will visit 13 social welfare facilities, marginalized groups, and national merit recipients to foster a warm holiday atmosphere. Finally, to reinforce public sector discipline, an integrity campaign will be conducted, and anti-corruption inspections will be carried out to establish discipline within the public sector.

County Governor Kim Yooncheol stated, "We will do our utmost to implement the comprehensive plan and operate the situation rooms so that all residents and visitors returning home can enjoy a safe and prosperous holiday."
