Agreement Includes Joint Promotion of Special Act on Aerospace Complex City
Kim Youngrok: "We Will Create a New 100 Years for the South Coast"
Jeonnam Governor Kim Youngrok is signing a business agreement with Gyeongnam Governor Park Wansu at the Namhae Bridge Namhaegak in Gyeongnam on the 29th to secure future growth engines for Jeonnam and Gyeongnam. Provided by Jeonnam Province
On September 29, Jeonnam Province and Gyeongnam Province signed the "Jeonnam-Gyeongnam Win-Win Cooperation Business Agreement" at the Namhae Pavilion of Namhae Bridge. The two provinces agreed to establish a close cooperative system for joint responses to future strategic industries in the era of national sovereignty and for the development of the South Coast region.
At the signing ceremony, Jeonnam Governor Kim Youngrok and Gyeongnam Governor Park Wansu personally signed the agreement, pledging that Jeonnam Province and Gyeongnam Province would cooperate based on mutual trust and shared goals.
The main contents of the agreement include: ▲ Joint promotion of a special law for the construction of an aerospace complex city ▲ Joint response to a special law for the development of the South Coast region ▲ Efficient operation of the Free Economic Zone ▲ Joint bid to host COP33 ▲ Formation of a working-level consultative body, among others.
The two provinces will jointly promote the enactment of the "Special Act on the Construction and Support of the Aerospace Complex City," submit proposals to the National Assembly and central government, and conduct legislative activities such as public hearings and forums together. They will also closely collaborate on related policies for research and development, talent cultivation, and the expansion of the industrial ecosystem.
In addition, to expedite the enactment of the "Special Act on the Development of the South Coast Region," they will cooperate in submitting joint proposals and conducting public consensus-building activities. They also plan to discover and promote joint development strategies and key tasks to foster the South Coast as a new growth axis for national balanced development.
At the signing ceremony, Governor Kim Youngrok emphasized, "As President Lee Jaemyung has also stressed that national balanced development is a destiny, not a choice, Jeonnam and Gyeongnam will work together to create a new 100 years for the South Coast."
