Preparing for Holiday Visitors
by Creating a Clean Tourism Environment
On September 29, Seongsan District of Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province held the "South Korea Makeover" environmental improvement campaign at Sangnam Fountain Square together with the Tourism Promotion Team.
This campaign was organized ahead of the Chuseok holiday to provide a pleasant environment for tourists visiting Changwon and to promote the image of a clean and safe tourist city.
On this day, 25 members of the Tourism Promotion Team participated in activities such as collecting trash and tidying up banners, focusing on major tourist attractions. While carrying out environmental maintenance around tourist sites, including the area around Sangnam Fountain Square, the team conveyed the message to citizens and tourists to work together to maintain a clean city.
Kim Sooyoon, head of the Culture and Sanitation Division, said, "As many tourists are expected to visit during the holiday period, we will do our best to ensure that Changwon is remembered as a city people want to return to by creating a pleasant environment." She added, "We will continue ongoing environmental improvement activities in connection with the 'South Korea Makeover' campaign."
Meanwhile, the Seongsan District Tourism Promotion Team was launched in 2016 and currently consists of about 40 members. Through seasonal campaigns and tourism promotion activities, the team has been working to revitalize local tourism.
