On September 29, Hanwha Investment & Securities stated that nothing has been decided regarding reports that it is considering selling its stake in Dunamu, amid speculation about a potential merger between Dunamu and Naver Financial, a Naver affiliate.
On this day, Hanwha Investment & Securities announced in a regulatory filing, "As a shareholder holding a 5.94% stake in Dunamu, we are reviewing various options such as retaining, exercising a put option, or selling our shares, in light of the ongoing discussions between Dunamu and Naver Financial on a strategic partnership, including a comprehensive stock swap. However, nothing has been specifically decided yet."
Previously, a media outlet reported that Hanwha Investment & Securities was in contact with several global investment banks regarding the sale of its 5.94% stake in Dunamu.
Hanwha Investment & Securities purchased 2,069,450 shares of Dunamu for 58.3 billion won in 2021, considering an entry into the virtual asset business.
