LG Uplus announced on the 28th that it has successfully concluded the '2025 AXtival' event, which was organized to promote the AX culture within the company. The event was held for four days starting from the 23rd under the slogan, "Stand Still or Move Forward with AX."
The event featured a hackathon competition where employees from various departments gathered within a limited time frame to propose and implement concrete business ideas, as well as lectures and experience booths.
The hackathon competition, held over two days and one night, focused on the theme of "Developing AI Tools to Enhance Work Productivity." A total of 16 teams, comprising 83 participants including planners, designers, and developers, either as teams or individuals, generated ideas and tackled assigned tasks.
The grand prize was jointly awarded to a team that developed a web page creation and deployment system for non-developers, and another team that created a customized talent development system by systematizing individual work experiences and optimizing personnel placement. Both systems were highly praised for maximizing work productivity and their immediate applicability in practice.
In addition, lecture sessions introducing AI tool usage and AX cases from other companies, along with experience booths, attracted an average of about 1,800 visitors per day. Speakers included AI experts from global tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, and AWS, who shared their insights.
Going forward, LG Uplus plans to continue refining the award-winning ideas from the hackathon competition so they can be applied company-wide.
Kim Youngjoo, Head of AX and Talent Development at LG Uplus, said, "Through this event, we were able to witness the passion for AX and the high-level ideas of our employees," adding, "We will continue to promote the AX culture within the company and establish various educational programs to nurture AI experts."
