Swift Response: From CPR to Traffic Control
Police officers from the local precinct, who were having dinner at a restaurant after work, saved an unconscious customer through their swift response.
On September 24, a video titled '"Help, please!" Police officers rush in response to a desperate cry' was uploaded to the YouTube channel of the National Police Agency of South Korea. The video shows a recent incident at a restaurant in North Jeolla Province, where a man lost consciousness and collapsed while dining. At the time, the man was having a meal with his wife and other family members when he suddenly lost control of his body and collapsed. His family tried to wake him up, but their efforts were in vain.

The restaurant owner, witnessing the situation, quickly sensed the emergency and hurried off somewhere. After rushing down the hallway to the other side, the owner called out to someone, and soon several people came out in a line and headed straight toward the collapsed man. These were police officers from the Sangdong District of Jeongeup Police Station, Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency, who happened to be dining at the same restaurant after their shift.
The officers checked the man's consciousness, removed his shoes and belt to relieve pressure on his body, and immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Other officers calmed the shocked family and spoke to the man to prevent him from losing consciousness again. Meanwhile, some officers went outside the restaurant to direct traffic and secure a route for the 119 emergency ambulance. Thanks to their prompt actions, the collapsed man regained consciousness within one minute.

Shortly after, when the 119 rescue team arrived, the officers quickly guided the paramedics into the restaurant and handed the man over to them. The officers made sure to check on everything thoroughly once again before finally leaving the scene.
