On September 27, National Assembly Speaker Woo Wonshik wrote, "You really went through so much! How unfair and difficult it must have been!" in response to former Democratic Party lawmakers Kim Dongmin and Lee Sujin, who were acquitted in the first trial after being prosecuted on charges of receiving money and valuables from former Star Mobility Chairman Kim Bonghyun.
On his Facebook page that day, Speaker Woo referred to the two as "my beloved juniors," shared a news report about their acquittal, and wrote these words.
He also commented on the passage of the government organization act amendment, which was led by the ruling party and centered on abolishing the prosecution office, during the National Assembly plenary session the previous day. He wrote, "Yesterday, there was also a major change for the prosecution... This is what we call history."
