At around 10:17 a.m. on the 27th, a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) explosion occurred inside a jjimjilbang in Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province. As of now, 19 people, including jjimjilbang customers, have been reported injured in the accident. Among them, three people sustained serious injuries.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the fire authorities mobilized 17 pieces of equipment and 42 personnel to carry out emergency response and rescue operations, and stated that the number of casualties could increase.
The police and fire authorities believe the LPG exploded near the charcoal kiln inside the jjimjilbang and are investigating the cause of the accident.
