This training program was organized as part of the "2025 Busan Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Support Project," led by the Busan Metropolitan Government and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency. The initiative aimed to transfer Korea's advanced medical technologies to Mongolian medical professionals and to strengthen cooperative networks.

In August, Lee Kwangjae, Director of Daedong Hospital and an endocrinology specialist, and Kim Youngjun, Director of the International Cooperation Center and an orthopedic specialist, personally visited the Gachuurt Village Health Center in Bayanzurkh District, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, for a medical consultation session. There, they assessed the local medical environment and needs, which served as the basis for shaping the direction and content of the training program.

The local survey revealed that Mongolia's high-fat, high-protein diet is linked to an increase in childhood obesity, which in turn is associated with a rise in precocious puberty and short stature among children and adolescents. It was also found that there is a lack of specialized response systems for emergency trauma and critical illnesses.

Accordingly, Daedong Hospital structured the training program around the departments of pediatrics and emergency medicine, inviting Bat-Amgalang, Director of the Gachuurt Village Health Center and a pediatric specialist, as well as Delgerzaya, the ward manager and general practitioner, to participate.

The training began with an orientation session. Lee Kyunwoo, Chief of Pediatrics, provided clinical case-based education on the diagnosis and treatment of precocious puberty and short stature. In addition, Son Kangho, Director of the Regional Emergency Medical Center, along with seven other medical staff members, delivered training on response and treatment for a variety of emergency situations, including critical care, drug intoxication, and trauma.

On the final day of the program, a completion ceremony was held to share the educational outcomes and to discuss the prospects for ongoing medical cooperation in the future.

Bat-Amgalang stated, "The training was extremely beneficial as it was structured around practical, case-based education. I expect that the systematic diagnostic and treatment strategies learned in Korea will be of great help when applied to the Mongolian medical field."

Lee Kwangjae, Director of Daedong Hospital, commented, "It was a meaningful experience to contribute to strengthening the capabilities of Mongolian medical professionals by sharing Korea's advanced medical system. Daedong Hospital will continue to participate in international medical exchanges, sharing Korean medical technology with the world and fostering mutual growth."

As a result of its ongoing efforts to promote and strengthen international medical cooperation, Daedong Hospital has been recognized as one of the "Top 30 Institutions for Attracting Foreign Patients in Busan in 2023" and one of the "Top 20 Mediwel Busan Joint Promotion Partner Institutions in 2024," thereby enhancing its reputation in the field of international medicine.
