Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) signed an agreement with the Busan Metropolitan Government to support the relocation of households residing in "Gilsan Villa," a multi-family housing complex located in Ami-dong 2-ga, Seo-gu, which had received an emergency safety order.
As a result of this measure, two households who had delayed evacuation due to financial difficulties were able to move into the nearby Nambumin Full Life rental housing.
Gilsan Villa, completed in 1999, was found to have a serious defect, receiving an E-grade for tilting. Consequently, an emergency safety order was issued in accordance with the Special Act on the Safety and Maintenance of Facilities. However, some residents had faced difficulties with evacuation and relocation due to financial constraints.
In response, Busan Urban Corporation and the Busan Metropolitan Government amended their agreement to expand support not only to households subject to redevelopment and reconstruction, but also to those residing in buildings that have received emergency safety orders, enabling them to move into circulating rental housing. Through this, the two households from Gilsan Villa were able to swiftly relocate to alternative accommodations. Residents are guaranteed a minimum two-year stay and may continue to reside if they meet the eligibility requirements.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "It is a key responsibility of the corporation to provide rapid and stable alternative housing for citizens whose housing safety is threatened. With this amendment to the agreement, we will do our utmost to improve residential welfare for citizens who have fallen through the cracks, as the scope of support has been expanded."
