Kwon Ohhyun of Samsung Electronics Appointed Chairman of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Mid- to Long-term Strategy Committee

Kwon Ohhyun, Honorary Chairman of Samsung Electronics, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Mid- to Long-term Strategy Committee, a private advisory body under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on September 24, the ministry recently completed the formation of the 7th Mid- to Long-term Strategy Committee, with Kwon serving as chairman. This is the first time that a business executive has been appointed as the chairman of the committee.

Kwon previously served as President and Head of Semiconductors at Samsung Electronics, Vice Chairman and CEO, Chairman of Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, and held other key positions.
