Changwon to Host K-POP World Festival Continuing the Global K-POP Craze

Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province announced that the global Korean Wave festival, the '2025 Changwon K-POP World Festival', will kick off with a spectacular opening at Changwon Plaza, the city's iconic landmark, on October 17.

Celebrating its 14th year, the '2025 Changwon K-POP World Festival' is the largest K-POP festival in the world, with global preliminaries held in 48 countries. Contestants who pass the preliminary rounds in their respective countries will be invited to the final stage on the 17th after the first and second rounds of judging by K-POP experts. This year, a total of 22 participants from four teams representing the United Kingdom, Belarus, Costa Rica, and Madagascar will compete in the finals.

Given that top talents from around the world will be competing fiercely, the final competition will also feature performances by a variety of popular Korean artists and groups, including Sandara Park, Lee Youngji, AB6IX, Kep1er, BLACKSWAN, 8TURN, and Taekwonkree.

In addition, the competition will be hosted by actress Jung Jisoo, who became widely known to the public through the blockbuster film "Parasite" and has since been active in various fields.

Meanwhile, tickets for the '2025 Changwon K-POP World Festival' will be available for reservation on NOL Interpark starting at 2:00 p.m. on October 1. The performance is free of charge (a 2,000 won reservation fee applies), and further details can be found on NOL Interpark.
