This conversation with apartment residents marked the fourth session of Mayor Lee's "On-site Communication Busking for Residential Complexes," which he began in June. Mayor Lee has continued this event once a month, following previous sessions at Hillstate Dunjonyeok in Gorim-dong (June), Hillstate Gojinyeok Complexes 1 and 2 (July), and E-Pyunhansesang Guseongyeok Platform City in Mabuk-dong (August).
Touring various parts of the complex with the residents, Mayor Lee listened directly to their suggestions and sought solutions. To prepare, the city collected 52 suggestions from residents in advance and reviewed them. Of these, 19 had already been addressed or were in progress before the meeting. Mayor Lee explained that 21 items are under mid- to long-term review, while for 12 items that are realistically difficult to resolve, he provided detailed explanations during the meeting.
The discussion covered not only urgent resident issues such as delays in the opening of urban planning roads, increasing the number of buses, and establishing a new airport bus route, but also included questions and answers about major metropolitan transportation plans currently being pursued by the city, such as the extension of the Gyeonggang Line and the introduction of a metropolitan express railway.
In addition, Mayor Lee addressed various other resident requests, including support for the community crime prevention unit, the creation of a youth center, additional streetlights at bus stops, and the maintenance of vacant lots.
Mayor Lee stated, "While there have been many efforts by the city to reflect residents' perspectives and some say the apartments are a good place to live, there are still inconveniences and unresolved defects. As there are still shortcomings in areas like transportation and education, I will listen carefully to your opinions and actively help with anything the city can assist with."
Following this event, Mayor Lee plans to continue the communication busking session at Yongin Demarc Desiang in Cheoin-gu on October 20.
