Donghae City Selected as Certified City for Four Urban Regeneration Sites in Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "Urban Regeneration Stamp Tour"

On September 24, Donghae City in Gangwon Province announced that it has been selected as a certified location for the "Urban Regeneration Stamp Tour" organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

This tour will take place at 40 locations in 10 cities nationwide, and Donghae City has had four locations selected as certified spots: Mukko Yang Healing Cafe, Cafe Geobukdang, Pencil Museum, and Eodal Port.

The "Urban Regeneration Stamp Tour" is a program designed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to allow the public to directly experience the achievements of urban regeneration projects and feel the appeal of local communities. It will be held at 40 locations in 10 cities nationwide, selected for their outstanding project outcomes linked to local history and cultural assets, as well as their abundant tourism resources.


Participants can visit the certified locations and automatically collect stamps based on GPS through a dedicated mobile app (Stamp Tour) until December 14.


Depending on the number of stamps completed, participants will receive various prizes, including Onnuri gift certificates.


In addition, a "Urban Regeneration Short-Form Video Contest" will be held in conjunction with the stamp tour.


The contest invites participants to create and submit videos under two minutes in length, showcasing the attractions of Donghae City and stories of urban regeneration encountered during the tour.


The short-form contest will accept entries until November 30, and the winners will be announced in December.


Outstanding entries will receive awards from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Grand Prize, 2 million won) and the President of the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (Excellence Prize, 500,000 won each).


Jung Hayoun, head of Donghae City's Urban Maintenance Division, stated, "Being selected as a certified location for this stamp tour provides an opportunity to promote Donghae City's urban regeneration achievements nationwide. We will do our best to ensure that visitors can walk, enjoy, and appreciate the value of urban regeneration at these locations."
