"One Incheon, From Incheon to the World"... Incheon Citizens’ Day Event on October 11

Incheon City will host the 61st Citizens’ Day celebration and Citizens’ Happiness Week throughout the city from October 11 to 25.

To mark Citizens’ Day, the city will hold the “Grand Festival for 10 Million Incheon Citizens” at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park on the 11th. This event is designed as a large-scale cultural festival that goes beyond a simple commemorative ceremony, aiming to foster unity and exchange among 3 million Incheon citizens and 7 million overseas Koreans around the world.

Under the theme “One Incheon, From Incheon to the World,” a variety of programs will take place, including the commemorative event, Incheon Food Festival, Citizens’ Culture and Arts Festival, and Overseas Koreans Photo Exhibition. There will also be hands-on side events where citizens can participate directly.

The commemorative ceremony, held at 6:30 p.m., will include the presentation of the Citizens’ Award. The festival will conclude with a drone light show, providing a unique visual experience for attendees.

During the two-week Citizens’ Happiness Week, 24 cultural, artistic, tourism, sports, and exhibition-linked events will be held across Incheon, including a chrysanthemum exhibition, Incheon Film Week, Overseas Koreans Incheon Homecoming Day, and a local agricultural and specialty products market.

In addition, those who present identification or a resident registration certificate proving Incheon citizenship can receive special discounts at participating accommodations, amusement facilities, and public cultural venues during the events.

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeongbok stated, “Through the Citizens’ Day celebration, we aim to provide citizens with special happiness in their daily lives and to strengthen Incheon’s identity and sense of community.”
