The Small Business Association announced on the 24th that it participated in the "2025 National Assembly Legislative Expo."

The National Assembly Legislative Expo, the first legislative expo ever held by the National Assembly, took place over two days from the 23rd to the 24th. Under the theme "A Path Opened by Public Participation, a Future Opened by Legislation," the event highlighted three major agendas: overcoming the climate crisis, responding to regional extinction, and revitalizing the livelihood economy.

The Small Business Association participated under the agenda of "revitalizing the livelihood economy," promoting its achievements such as the enactment of the Small Business Basic Act in 2019 and the establishment of a dedicated vice minister for small businesses-both legislative outcomes that the association had advocated for. The association also introduced the current status of legislative tasks related to the small business sector.

Additionally, the association set up a booth to conduct on-site research on recent consumer coupon usage for livelihood recovery, and promoted its current key legislative initiatives to members of the National Assembly and citizens visiting the booth, expressing its commitment to advancing these issues.

The association focused on promoting five major legislative priorities: the enactment of three key laws-the Small Business Welfare Act, the Online Platform Fairness Act, and the Special Act on Support for Small Business Manpower-as well as amendments to the Restriction of Special Taxation Act to expand income deduction rates for small business workplaces, and revisions to the Commercial Building Lease Act to mandate the disclosure of management fee details for commercial leases.

Song Chiyoung, President of the Small Business Association, stated, "By participating in the first-ever legislative expo held by the National Assembly, we were able to promote the association's policy achievements and directly explain our current legislative priorities to lawmakers and citizens, conveying the determination of small business owners." He added, "We will continue to work closely with the National Assembly to focus on legislative efforts aimed at overcoming crises for small businesses and restoring the ladder of growth."
