Sancheong County Recognized as Distinguished Institution for Mental Health Promotion

Governor's Commendation at the Mental Health Day Commemoration Ceremony

Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 24th that it received the Governor's Commendation for its contributions to mental health promotion at the '2025 Mental Health Day Commemoration Ceremony' held at the Changwon Convention Center.

For this award, Sancheong County was recognized for leading efforts to provide information on mental illness and promote awareness, resulting in positive changes within the community.

In particular, the county was praised for its proactive response to psychiatric emergencies, its efforts in early intervention for mental illness, suicide prevention, and management of high-risk groups in the region.

Additionally, the operation of the Mental Health Welfare Center, which provided prompt psychological support to residents during disasters such as large-scale wildfires and extreme heavy rainfall, as well as the implementation of various mental health programs, also received high marks.

Kim Sol, Director of the Sancheong County Public Health Center, stated, "We will continue to develop and operate diverse programs to promote mental health and foster a culture that values life."

Meanwhile, the Mental Health Day Commemoration Ceremony was organized to recognize individuals and organizations who have contributed to the prevention of mental illness and improvement of awareness in celebration of Mental Health Day (October 10), and to highlight the importance of mental health.
