At a resident briefing session held on September 19, the city unveiled a draft of the guidelines and explained its recommendations regarding the household increase ratio (160%). During this process, some expressions may have caused misunderstandings.

An official from Seongnam City stated, "The guidelines are a draft intended to gather residents' opinions," and added, "The recommended number of households was presented as an example of a scale that would not place excessive burdens on infrastructure during the preparation of maintenance plans for each district. The phrase 'We recommend increasing the target number of households by 1.6 times,' which was presented at the resident briefing session, will be deleted."

The city has confirmed that the average household increase rate in the submitted special maintenance plans for pilot districts is 176%, and the average floor area ratio is 338%. After review by relevant departments, the city plans to finalize the 'Special Maintenance Plan Preparation Guidelines' by fully incorporating residents' opinions.

Shin Sangjin, Mayor of Seongnam City, stated, "Seongnam's redevelopment and reconstruction must be carried out for the residents and by the residents, and this has been the city's consistent position." He added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that the reconstruction of the first-generation new town in Bundang can proceed smoothly while minimizing the burden on residents."
