Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced on the 23rd that it had conducted a "Township Safety Management Function Enhancement Project Consulting" on the 22nd to systematically promote the "Gokseong-type 3S Smart Map Safety Care Project," a public contest project by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This consulting session was organized to enhance the implementation of the "Gokseong-type 3S Smart Map Safety Care Project," which was selected in the public contest in April, and to review the project's direction.
The county has established public-private safety care councils in each township to address welfare and safety blind spots caused by the increase in single-person households and the aging population, and has enabled administrative welfare centers to function as the primary points of contact in the field.
The consulting session was attended by Koo Bongeun, Head of the Smart Welfare Safety Community Promotion Team at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, related officials, Cho Seongil, Director of the Rene Disaster Policy Research Institute, county officials, and a total of 16 participants, who discussed strategies for implementing the project.
Koo Bongeun stated, "The Gokseong County 3S Smart Map Safety Care Project is a unique initiative that reflects the characteristics of the region well." Cho Seongil commented, "We expect an organic public-private cooperation system that proactively inspects and manages safety situations at the township level, which is closest to the residents."
Meanwhile, the county plans to use this consulting session to seek ways to strengthen implementation and, together with the council, focus on providing distinctive welfare and safety services.
