Kim Dongyeon Welcomes Lee Jaemyung Administration's Push for Insurance Coverage of Nursing Care Expenses

Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, has expressed his support for the government's announcement to promote the coverage of nursing care expenses at long-term care hospitals.

While on a business trip in China, Governor Kim stated on his social media on the 23rd, "With this announcement to expand coverage, we are marking the beginning of a country where people no longer have to worry about nursing care expenses." He further assessed, "This is the result of achievements that follow the National Health Insurance under the Kim Daejung administration, the Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly under the Roh Moo-hyun administration, and the National Dementia Responsibility System under the Moon Jae-in administration."

Governor Kim Dongyeon of Gyeonggi Province posted a message and photo on his social media on the 23rd.

He added, "The role of the state has now expanded to include care and nursing," explaining, "Gyeonggi Province was the first among all metropolitan governments in the country to implement the 'Caregiving SOS Project,' because it was necessary to take the lead in preventing situations where the burden of caregiving pushes entire families to the brink."

He continued, "Caregiving goes beyond simply looking after patients," emphasizing, "It is about protecting the lives and dignity of the entire family."

Furthermore, he stated, "To ensure that the National Responsibility for Caregiving under the Lee Jaemyung administration is firmly established, Gyeonggi Province will contribute its experience and capabilities."
