The 2025 Chuseok Gift Set of President Lee Jae-myung, released by the Presidential Office on the 23rd
The Presidential Office announced on the 23rd that President Lee Jaemyung's first Chuseok gifts since taking office will include a presidential commemorative watch, seafood from the eight provinces, and Korean rice.
The Presidential Office explained, "The watch embodies the earnest sentiment that one hour of the President is equivalent to the 52 million hours of the people, as well as the President's firm resolve to devote himself to state affairs in order to protect the safety and lives of the people and to improve their quality of life."
The seafood from the eight provinces is composed of major local specialties from the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea, reflecting the era of the Northern Sea Route. The rice was cultivated in Uiseong, North Gyeongsang Province, an area that suffered from a massive wildfire in March last year, and the gift expresses support for the recovery of the affected region, according to the Presidential Office.
The recipients of the gifts include key figures who have contributed to national development and the stability of people's lives, patriotic heroes who have dedicated themselves to the country, families of disaster victims, and socially disadvantaged groups. Chuseok gifts will also be sent to the bereaved families of industrial accident victims.
In a message sent with the gifts, President Lee stated, "On the occasion of Chuseok, I hope that everyone's sweat and efforts will bear fruit and that warmth will fill our society," adding, "I will do my utmost to create a world where we live together and a nation where the people are happy."
The Presidential Office emphasized, "This is not simply a holiday gift, but a symbolic gesture of gratitude for the people's dedication, comfort for the socially vulnerable, and a pledge toward a Korea where everyone can be happy together."
