Man in His 40s Booked for Unlicensed Drunk Driving in Kickboard Collision Gwangju Western Police Station exterior.

A man in his 40s was apprehended by police after driving under the influence without a license and hitting a pedestrian on a kickboard.

On September 23, the Gwangju Western Police Station announced that they had booked a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, on charges including causing injury under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents, after he caused an accident while driving under the influence without a license.

Mr. A is suspected of driving under the influence without a license at around 10:39 p.m. the previous day in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, and hitting a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. B, who was riding a kickboard, causing him to sustain injuries. It is reported that Mr. B suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.

At the time of the accident, Mr. A fled the scene out of fear that his lack of a license would be discovered, but later returned. A breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol concentration at the level for license revocation.

It was found that Mr. A, whose license had previously been revoked, was driving a vehicle registered under his spouse's name when the accident occurred. The police are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the accident.
