"Enhancing Cultural Enjoyment for the Underprivileged"
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will operate temporary festival-affiliated merchants for three days from September 26 to 28, allowing people to enjoy a diverse festival culture using the Munhwa Nuri Card.
According to the county on September 23, the Munhwa Nuri Card (Integrated Culture Voucher) program provides an annual subsidy of 140,000 won for the underprivileged (basic livelihood security recipients and those in the lower-income bracket) to use in the fields of culture, tourism, and sports, with the aim of enhancing cultural enjoyment for marginalized groups.
The card can be used at booths in the festival venue that display the Munhwa Nuri Card merchant sign. At the Hong Sam Festival venue, participants can use the Munhwa Nuri Card to purchase local specialties such as red ginseng, mushrooms, apples, as well as to enjoy cultural experiences.
A county official stated, "Through the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival, we will strive to ensure that both Munhwa Nuri Card beneficiaries and all local residents can participate and enjoy the festival culture together."
Meanwhile, the next festival in Jinan County that can be enjoyed with the Munhwa Nuri Card will be the Kimchi Bossam Festival, scheduled to be held from November 15 to 16.
