In the men's weekly world golf rankings announced on the 21st (local time), he earned 0.20 points, making a remarkable leap of 1,060 spots from 1,701st last week. He accumulated these points by winning the Golfzon Open on the Korea Professional Golfers' Association (KPGA) Tour, held the previous day at Golfzon County Sunsan (par 71) in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, with a four-stroke victory. This marks his second tour win, coming seven years after his first at the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyungju Invitational in October 2018. The winner's prize is 200 million won.


Scottie Scheffler (USA) and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) retained their positions at first and second, respectively. Russell Henley is ranked third, while Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas (both USA) are in fourth and fifth place. Among Korean players, Sungjae Im is 33rd, Kim Siwoo is 60th, Byeonghun An is 72nd, and Kim Joo-hyung is 86th.
