Seoul IPC General Assembly to Be Held Until the 28th
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 22nd that it held a welcome dinner at Samcheonggak in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, for the IPC Executive Committee members who came to Korea to attend the '2025 Seoul International Paralympic Committee (IPC) General Assembly.'
Approximately 20 people, including Andrew Parsons, IPC President, and Duane Kale, Vice President, as well as other Executive Committee members, attended the dinner.
The Seoul IPC General Assembly will be held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, from this day until the 28th. The Seoul General Assembly is an important event where representatives of National Paralympic Committees from around the world and officials from international sports federations gather to discuss the future vision of the IPC and elect a new president. It is especially significant as the largest international para-sports event to be held in Korea since the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics.

The dinner featured a welcome speech by Minister Choi Hwiyoung, a response by President Parsons, and a celebratory performance. During the performance, the National Gugak Orchestra and Kim Junsu, a member of the National Changgeuk Company, collaborated to present a show blending traditional and contemporary elements.
The Ministry stated that during the Seoul General Assembly, it would continue close cooperation with the IPC and actively strengthen international solidarity for the sustainable development of para-sports and the realization of an inclusive society.
Minister Choi Hwiyoung said, "The Republic of Korea has contributed to raising the international status of para-sports by successfully hosting the 1988 Seoul Paralympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics in cooperation with the IPC." He added, "The Seoul General Assembly will be an important opportunity to reaffirm the value of para-sports and strengthen cooperation within the international community." He continued, "The Korean government will promote balanced development of para-sports, from grassroots to elite sports, and will actively contribute to the global advancement of para-sports through various international cooperation projects such as the International Youth Camp and sports support programs."
