The Gwangju City Council (Chairperson Shin Sujeong) visited local child welfare facilities on the morning of the 22nd, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, to encourage the staff.
On this day, Chairperson Shin Sujeong visited the Bethel Community Child Center in Buk-gu to offer words of comfort to the staff dedicated to ensuring the safe care and healthy growth of children, and delivered consolation items such as daily necessities and hygiene products.
Chairperson Shin stated, "Though it is a small gesture, I hope to share a warm holiday with our neighbors and, above all, express my gratitude to the staff who are devoted on the front lines," adding, "The city council will continue to pursue legislative activities that are attentive to the field and work closely with our citizens."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju City Council plans for its leadership and standing committee chairs to visit a total of eight welfare facilities for children, people with disabilities, and the elderly in the city over the next four days, until the 25th, to deliver necessary consolation items and listen to any concerns.
