"Securing a Safe Outdoor Activity Space for Students with Disabilities Is Highly Significant"

Seongnam Mayor Shin Sangjin visited Seongnam Hyeun School on the 22nd to inspect the completion site of the safety pedestrian path (deck) connecting the Dandae Neighborhood Park multipurpose field and the school.

The site visit was attended by Mayor Shin, school officials, and parents. Mayor Shin personally walked the newly completed 180-meter wooden deck to check the safety and convenience of the facility.

In his remarks, Mayor Shin said, "I am pleased that students of Seongnam Hyeun School can now safely and conveniently use the Dandae Park multipurpose field," adding, "In particular, it is most meaningful that a space has been secured for students with disabilities to freely enjoy outdoor activities in the multipurpose field, which is protected on all four sides by a fence."

He also stated, "This project reflects suggestions from parents," and added, "We will continue to gather diverse opinions from citizens and carry out projects that provide practical benefits."

This project was promoted to address the inconvenience of students having to take a detour due to the lack of a direct path from Seongnam Hyeun School to the Dandae Neighborhood Park multipurpose field. With the installation of the deck, students are now expected to use the multipurpose field more safely and conveniently.
