K3AI Secures Aerospace XR Project Following Robotics Success

K3AI, the first company in South Korea to commercialize XR (Extended Reality) middleware, has successfully secured an XR contract in the aerospace sector, following its achievements in robotics and semiconductors. On September 22, K3AI announced that it had signed a supply contract with Jinju City for the production of aerospace XR content worth 1.4 billion KRW. This amount represents approximately 10% of the company's sales revenue from the previous year.

This project is a 3.1 billion KRW XR content production initiative for Jinju City's public aerospace science museum. K3AI participated as part of a consortium and was selected as the XR content provider through a competitive bidding process. The goal of the project is to create content that explains and demonstrates aerospace-related technologies at the Jinju City public science museum.

K3AI plans to produce aerospace content utilizing advanced equipment and technology through this project. The company intends to offer a variety of content, including immersive interactive experiences that allow visitors to interact with exhibits, as well as XR content such as AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), and simulators.

K3AI possesses a portfolio of XR content references applicable to various industries, including robotics and semiconductors. In July, the company secured its twelfth contract for a project overseen by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, thereby demonstrating its technological competitiveness in industrial XR content for sectors such as robotics and semiconductors. Leveraging its unique XR technology, K3AI has achieved a cumulative total of 10.4 billion KRW in new orders this year, including this latest contract.

A company representative stated, "Based on our differentiated technological capabilities, we have successfully diversified our XR content business into the aerospace sector. By integrating AIXR technology, we will provide interactive experiential content that allows visitors to engage with exhibits and create an original, immersive edutainment exhibition space."

He added, "As our core business has entered a growth phase, we will accelerate research and development in new growth engines such as omniverse-based robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) within the AIXR technology field. We already have a portfolio of AIXR content production references for robotics, and for AI, we expect to achieve rapid results by utilizing new 3D spatial data acquired through our own high-quality 3D data and the 2025 customized support project for public data and AI utilization companies."

The Jinju City public aerospace science museum was established to present the current status and vision of advanced aerospace industrial technology and to bridge the regional gap in science culture. The company explained that the museum will offer immersive experiential content and programs to stimulate creativity, and will feature original exhibition productions based on storytelling, setting it apart from other science museums.
