The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on September 22 that it had held a delivery ceremony for its Chuseok holiday support project.
The ceremony, which took place at the office of the head of Buk-gu District in Gwangju on the same day, was attended by Koo Je-gil, Chairman of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, and Moon In, the head of Buk-gu District, among others.
In celebration of Chuseok, a traditional Korean holiday, Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae provides support in the form of cash, daily necessities, and gift certificates to marginalized groups such as low-income families, children who are heads of households, and elderly people living alone, sharing warmth and comfort with them.
To this end, a total of 200 million won will be distributed to five districts in Gwangju: 22 million won to Dong-gu, 52 million won to Seo-gu, 31 million won to Nam-gu, 68 million won to Buk-gu, and 27 million won to Gwangsan-gu, so that everyone can enjoy a warm and happy Chuseok holiday.
Koo Je-gil, Chairman of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, said, "I sincerely thank the citizens of Gwangju for sharing their warmth with those in need during the Chuseok holiday," adding, "We will continue to do our best to support our marginalized neighbors in the future."
