In the "Excellence in Dementia Program Operation" category, the district was highly evaluated for linking local universities' "HIVE Project" and the Korea Forest Welfare Institute's "Senior Well-Life Project" to provide customized care programs for dementia patients and operate self-help groups for families.

In the "Excellence in Dementia Partner Operation" category, Seogu District was the only one selected in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, recognized for its contribution to creating a dementia-friendly community through the activities of "Seogu Gieokhaeondan," a volunteer group for dementia-safe villages.

Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu District, stated, "This award is a valuable achievement created together by the local community and public-private partnerships. We will continue to actively discover and promote projects that provide practical help for dementia prevention and management, making Seogu a dementia-free, caring community."
