First Large-Scale Cultural Event Held at Ungsang Central Park
Broadcast Scheduled for November 23, 16 Teams Advance to Finals
Yangsan City in South Gyeongsang Province (Mayor Na Dongyeon) announced that the public recording of the KBS National Singing Contest Yangsan City Edition, held at the Central Plaza of Ungsang Central Park on September 16, was successfully completed with enthusiastic support from local residents.
A total of 308 teams competed in the preliminary round for this public recording, and 16 teams were ultimately selected to perform on the main stage. Contestants of all ages, from children to seniors, showcased their unique talents and abilities.
National MC Nam Heeseok hosted the event with his signature wit, while five popular singers-Park Sangcheol, Yang Jieun, Shin Seungtae, Bae Jina, and Moon Chohee-delivered celebratory performances, further elevating the atmosphere at the venue.
The finalists who graced the main stage received awards in the following categories:
▲ Popularity Award: Lee Sora and one other, Son Eunseol ▲ Encouragement Award: Jung Heeyoon and four others ▲ Excellence Award: Choi Sunhwa ▲ Grand Prize: Kim Yonghoe
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "The National Singing Contest was a precious occasion for citizens to come together, laugh, and enjoy as one. I deeply appreciate everyone who stayed until the end despite the hot weather," adding, "We will continue to organize a variety of cultural events so that citizens can enjoy culture up close in their daily lives."
The recorded 'KBS National Singing Contest Yangsan City Edition' is scheduled to be broadcast nationwide on KBS 1TV on November 23.
