2025 Goyang Lake Art Festival to Be Held at Ilsan Lake Park from September 26 to 28
Korea's First Multi-Stage Fireworks Show and Singer Park Junghyun to Highlight the Festival
The '2025 Goyang Lake Art Festival,' representing Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province, will be held for three days from September 26 to 28 at Ilsan Lake Park and Ilsan Culture Square.
Now in its 14th year, the festival will be held under the slogan "Art, Soaring from the Streets," featuring 60 teams from Korea and abroad. More than 100 performances, including circus acts, street theater, and musical plays, are scheduled to take place.
Notably, this year marks the first time the festival has been selected as a Gyeonggi Province Representative Tourism Festival, securing 200 million won in provincial funding and enabling an even richer and more diverse program lineup.
Special attention should be paid to the festival's highlight opening and closing performances. The opening show, "Beyond the Dream - Beyond the Dreamscape," is drawing anticipation as Korea's first-ever multi-stage performance combining a fireworks show and aerial performance.
This spectacular show will take place simultaneously at Hall 1 (Hanul Square) and Hall 2 (Theme Square) at 7:30 p.m. on September 27, and will be broadcast live on Goyang City's YouTube channel. The grand finale on September 28 will feature singer Park Junghyun, beloved by all generations. Her performance, set to fill the autumn night with beautiful melodies, is expected to leave festivalgoers with unforgettable memories.
Additionally, at 8:30 p.m. on both September 27 and 28, a "Fireworks Drone Light Show" will illuminate the sky above Ilsan Lake Park. A total of 1,200 drones-the largest number ever used in Goyang-will create a dazzling display, offering a magical experience reminiscent of a fairy tale. The subsequent fireworks show will beautifully light up the autumn night sky, providing the audience with a sense of romance.
During the festival, a "Receipt Exchange Booth" event will be held to boost local businesses. Visitors who bring a paper receipt showing a purchase of at least 50,000 won from stores in Janghang-dong can receive a Goyang Lake Art Festival picnic mat on a first-come, first-served basis. The event booths are located at Hanul Square in Ilsan Lake Park and the general information center at Ilsan Culture Square.
Lee Donghwan, Mayor of Goyang Special City, said, "Last year, more than 465,000 citizens and tourists attended the festival. This year, as we have been selected as a Gyeonggi Province Representative Tourism Festival, we have prepared an even safer and more vibrant festival," adding, "I hope everyone will create unforgettable memories with family, friends, and loved ones through this event."
As all performances are held without designated seating, bringing a mat or blanket will allow for a more comfortable viewing experience. For safe and convenient access, it is recommended to use public transportation such as Jeongbalsan Station on Line 3.
