Former President Moon Jaein visited the Joint Security Area (JSA) in Panmunjom on the afternoon of the 19th, marking the 7th anniversary of the September 19 Pyongyang Joint Declaration and Military Agreement.
The United Nations Command announced on Facebook that day, "Today, we welcomed former President Moon at the JSA," adding, "The delegation was briefed on the United Nations Command's ongoing peacebuilding efforts since the 2019 visit and its unwavering commitment to peace on the Korean Peninsula."
The United Nations Command also reported that General Xavier Brunson, Commander of United States Forces Korea and Commander of the ROK-US Combined Forces Command, was present at the site that day.
Former First Lady Kim Jungsook, former Blue House aides, and Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, accompanied former President Moon on this visit. It was also reported that former President Moon toured the Peace House, where his first summit with North Korean leader Kim Jongun was held in April 2018, as well as the Footbridge, where he walked with Chairman Kim.
The United Nations Command is said to have briefed former President Moon on changes in the situation on the Korean Peninsula since his term, the Command's contributions to risk reduction and trust-building through the implementation of the Armistice Agreement, and prospects for the future of the peninsula.
