On September 19, Damyang County in South Jeolla Province launched a "Youth Harmful Environment Out (OUT)!" campaign in conjunction with the start of the new school term, conducting joint inspections and crackdowns on harmful environments around schools.

The campaign was held in front of Damyang Nam Elementary School, with participation from Damyang County, the police station, the education office, the Youth Harmful Environment Monitoring Group, the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, and other related organizations and civic groups.

After the campaign, participants visited convenience stores and other businesses selling alcohol and tobacco in the areas surrounding the school and downtown, checking whether "No Alcohol or Tobacco Sales to Minors" signs were displayed. For businesses without such signs, they distributed prohibition stickers and carried out activities to improve and prevent harmful environments for youth.

Additionally, in order to preemptively block youth from purchasing alcohol and tobacco, leaflets detailing how to verify mobile identification were distributed to businesses, promoting stricter ID checks.

Suh Saenghyun, head of the Youth Harmful Environment Monitoring Group, stated, "As the new school term begins, it is important to maintain the environment so that students can safely adapt to school life," adding, "We will continue regular inspections and campaigns to create a safer environment going forward."
